No to Land Raise
East Sussex County Council proposal for land raise sites in the Low Weald is an issue of great concern, which may well affect Uckfield itself as well as a number of Chamber members who live in the countryside nearby
The is a meeting in Hailsham Community Centre on 23 January 10:00am and the closing date for consultation is 25 January - so the matter has become critical if people do not want ESCC & Brighton and Hove to dump their rubbish on land raise sites in East Sussex

Following the sad death of Barry Knights, the Chamber has been asked to help with the difficult task of finding a new Uckfield Town Coordinator.
The Town Coordinator post is designed to deliver cooperative improvement activities and projects between The Chamber, URP members and the Town Council for and on behalf of Uckfield and its residents and visitors. The farmers market, floral displays, tourism, parking amenities and Youth Trust are examples of such activities.
The salary is paid by grants from the Town Council and Wealden District Council, and the treasury is managed by Margaret Blomfield on a very professional basis.
Remuneration is for a 15 hour week at £12 per hour plus mileage @40p and out of pocket expenses - all paid monthly in arrears subject to authorisation by the Chairman of URP.
