Ridgewood Village Hall is the only community building in the south of Uckfield. Providing a meeting place for businesses and local community groups. Following the complete refurbishment we can now offer a large hall and a smaller meeting room for up to 12 people with Wi-Fi and we sit next to a fantastic recreation ground and out door space and in front of the beautiful Millennium Green.

We manage and run the Hall and committee room, hiring to outside bodies, businesses, and other charities. But we are so much more than a space to rent!

RVH is a registered charity run by a board of trustees, who are all volunteers who have made it into a community hub. From September, we will offer four community groups overseen by the RVH committee  and run by volunteers to support all ages in our community.

  1. A baby and pre school group meet every Monday morning.
  2. ‘Nibble & Natter’ meet every Monday afternoon for those older people who are looking for friendship and a warm space to meet and are provided with soup, bread, tea, coffee, cake and games.
  3. Community lunch club happens on the third Wednesday of every month now supporting over 50 elderly and more vulnerable adults with a hot meal and an afternoon of entertainment.
  4. And our new group on a Thursday afternoon starting in September is called ‘Every Mind Matters’ which is a Mental health friendly group to support those struggling with anxiety and depression.

We are also affiliated to PHAB who run a group one Saturday afternoon a month, who inspire and supports disabled and non disabled children, young people and adults to make more of a life together.

All our groups are formed to reach out to those in our community who need support. To breakdown barriers, reduce social isolation, provide  food, activities and friendship and provide the opportunity to signpost  to other support organisations .

The trustees also run four community events a year, to fundraise to support the maintenance of the hall and to help raise funds for our community groups. For example Winter/ Christmas  Fair, Easter Bunny Hunt , Spring Fair, Quiz Night, live band night, bringing neighbours and local people together .

We are grateful for the continued support from those that hire the hall, local businesses who sponsor our groups and events and our volunteers who work so hard to support so many in our community.

We would welcome interest from any businesses who would like to hire RVH for meetings and workshops .
