Despite it being Friday the 13th, forty businesses from across Uckfield and the surrounding area came together at The Highlands Inn for a morning of networking, conversation, and a delicious breakfast.
The event was a sell out, and the room was buzzing with energy as attendees swapped stories, shared tips, and made new connections over tea, coffee and a full English breakfast.
Each attendee had 60 seconds to introduce themselves and their business to the room – a fantastic chance to raise your profile in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, while also discovering what other local businesses are up to.
We were delighted to welcome Claire Witz from the Sussex Chamber, who shared insights about the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP), giving businesses the chance to influence skills development in the local area. Attendees also took part in an interactive quiz – using their business circumstances to answer questions and help shape development.
We also heard from Angela Maguire of the University of Brighton, who explained the Help to Grow programme, and Emma Ridley from East Sussex County Council, who highlighted the apprenticeship support available for employers.
