This Spring the Edward Baden team returned to the Natural History Museum (NHM) in South Kensington, London, to move more of the fossil collections in the underground vaults.

Previously, the Bellbrook Estate based company had successfully moved the Museum’s 3,000 piece Skull collection.

This year under guidance from keen fishermen, Head of Operations, John Brooker the team were quick to start moving various marine reptile fossils. The catch of the day was parts of a 228 million year old Ichthyosaur.

It was not all work for the team. Brothers Mike and Will Doherty were keen to be “photo-bombed” by a 13,000 year old Megatherium, a giant ground sloth from the Americas. Suggestions that their speed of work was at times “sloth-like” were quickly refuted!

The Uckfield based team are always enthused about the projects at NHM and come back reporting on what they have seen and tall tales about the “ones that got away!”
