Christmas is a time for giving – can any of our member businesses donate to this worthy event?
Each year a team of ESCC staff cook and serve a Christmas meal, give small Christmas gifts and create a happy and positive experience for 50 of our local care leavers aged between 16-25 years old and in some cases also their young children. These young people, for varying reasons, did not grow up within their birth families and have in many cases experienced multiple losses and trauma and are some of the most vulnerable in our community. They often find Christmas a very difficult and isolating time and sadly they do not have the usual support networks that makes Christmas a special time for many.
The feedback last year from our young people was so positive that we want to be able to offer this again and therefore we are kindly writing to ask if you would consider donating to this worthy cause. We are a statutory service and due to ever increasing financial cutbacks from central government we rely on the generous support of local and businesses to be able to offer this valuable experience to our young people, therefore any donation and support you can offer would be most gratefully received.
