Hello Uckfield Chamber of Commerce! I’m excited to introduce myself as a new member. I’m Merna Horthy, a cranial osteopath based here in Uckfield.
As an osteopath with over 36 years’ experience, I’m passionate about helping the body function optimally by improving blood flow and removing restrictions. Despite the name, cranial osteopathy treats the whole body, not just the head. I utilise a gentle, finely-tuned approach (picture the difference between a clockmaker and a watchmaker).
I qualified as an osteopath after 4 years of full-time training, building on my previous background as a physiotherapist. In 2015, I took the leap to launch my own practice. As a solo practitioner, I love the flexibility it provides, especially as a busy mum.
I lecture and tutor for the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy, Europe’s largest provider of postgraduate cranial osteopathy education. Continuous learning is a priority – I regularly attend seminars to stay current with the latest research.
