In a refreshing change from our usual early-morning and evening formats, the Uckfield Chamber of Commerce hosted its very first business lunch on 13 May. And we’re delighted to say it was a great success.
Some 18 local business owners and professionals gathered at Relish Bar & Grill in Bell Walk for an informal lunchtime meet-up, marking a new addition to the Chamber’s event calendar.
With no speeches, elevator pitches or set agenda, the event offered a relaxed environment for guests to connect over great food and conversation.
An alternative way to network
This casual lunchtime format has been on our minds for a while.
We know not everyone is at their best first thing in the morning and may have other commitments in the evening. So, we wanted to provide a fresh alternative to our ever-popular meetings.
The business lunch gave attendees the chance to network at a more leisurely pace. And judging by the buzz around the tables, it really hit the mark.
The food was a talking point in itself, with guests enjoying a delicious two-course Turkish meal for just £12.95. Favourites on the day included the grilled halloumi starter and the chicken shish main.
Look out for our next lunch
We’re always looking for new ways to support and connect our business community here in Uckfield. And based on the feedback, this won’t be the last lunchtime event we host.
