Culture Shift was established in 2011 by the people behind Creative Partnerships in Sussex and Surrey, becoming a charity in 2020.
Partnership remains at the heart of our approach. Our small core team often works alongside freelance creatives, each bringing specific areas of expertise to our projects, click for a list HERE.
At Culture Shift we create opportunities for people who may not otherwise have them, to come together with others and be creative.
We create spaces for people to have some ‘time out’ from everyday life and one of our flagship projects is Carers O’Clock. This focuses on the wellbeing of unpaid carers, providing support and creative respite for those people in our community who spend most of their lives looking after the needs of others. Sessions happen once a month in the Victoria Pavilion in Uckfield.
All our projects are led by creatives working as actors, dancers, visual artists, writers and musicians – supporting people to experience all these art forms and more. We create ways for people to learn new skills and sometimes to re-discover and develop old ones. We create confidence in individuals and communities, connections between different people, reducing social isolation and health inequalities. Our work creates positive change, progress, REAL shifts through training, events, projects and festivals.
