We’re delighted to share that this summer, St Peter & St James Hospice is celebrating 50 years of providing expert, compassionate care to adults with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones. The hospice, which serves the areas of Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Lewes, Uckfield and the villages in between, has maintained the same vision throughout the decades; ‘to provide the best possible care, in the right place, and at the right time, to everyone who needs us’.

To mark this incredible milestone, we’re launching a 50th Anniversary Campaign filled with community events, awareness-raising activities, and fundraising initiatives. Our goal is to raise £50,000!

This anniversary also gives the hospice an opportunity to raise awareness across the community about specialist palliative and end-of-life care, to make people aware of the support we offer, and to provide people with information and support, to help them live and die well, according to what matters most to them.

Whilst we are incredibly proud to be marking this important milestone in the hospice’s story, it is just as critical that we continue to support, and be supported by, the community to help us create our next chapter.

That’s why we’d love for you to get involved!

We have lots of fun and easy fundraising ideas to choose from, including:

Simple and Social Ideas:

  • Raffle (with donated prizes)
  • Dress Down Day (with donations)
  • Tombola
  • Sweepstake (e.g. “Guess how many sweets in the jar” – 50p per entry)
  • Bake sale or coffee morning
  • Quiz night

Bigger Challenges:

  • 50,000 Step Challenge
  • 5-a-side Football Match
  • 50K Walk Challenge

Or maybe you have your own creative idea?

We’d be thrilled to have your support and would love to hear if you will plan a fundraiser, when you plan for it to take place and what it is in the coming months.

Our aim is to get 50 businesses/community groups to support this fundraising opportunity. We will then share with everyone all the wonderful efforts that take place.

Every contribution helps us continue our vital work and write the next chapter in our story.
