The thought of getting dressed for networking on a ferociously hot Thursday morning might have been enough to put some people off.

Fortunately, the Uckfield Chamber of Commerce networking breakfast at Kings Church came with one very welcome bonus – air conditioning.

Around 40 local businesspeople escaped the heat for a couple of hours to network in the spacious surroundings of Kings Church Uckfield on the Bellbrook Industrial Estate.

Over tea, coffee and fruit juice, attendees caught up with familiar faces, made new connections and, inevitably, discussed the good old British weather.

Breakfast and business talk

Once everyone had arrived, Chamber Director Ian Noble welcomed guests before inviting each table up in turn to enjoy a delicious breakfast of bacon rolls, croissants, fruit and yoghurt, provided by Chamber member Wealden Kitchen.

After breakfast, every attendee had the opportunity to introduce themselves and their business during the popular 60-second pitches. Then came the business presentation.

The speakers for the event were Joanne South and Tim Rylatt from UK Growth Coach, who shared practical advice on ‘How to master your business profit flow’, which is also the title of their latest business support book.

What’s coming up

As the formal meeting came to a close, Ian gave a reminder of some of the Chamber events coming up, including a brand-new event called Ask the Expert taking place on 8 July at the Civic Centre. Seven experts from various industries will be on hand to answer questions to help you grow your business. Tickets are £10 and include a welcome drink.

Also coming up is the summer members’ meeting at the beautiful Horsted Place Hotel on the evening of Thursday 16 July, and the next networking breakfast at Chailey Heritage on Friday 21 August.

If you’re looking to make new connections, learn from fellow business owners and become part of the local business community, we’d love to see you at one of our upcoming events.
