What truly sets us apart is our heritage. Our current Workshop Foreman, Jake, represents the fourth generation of the Tarrant family to work in metal fabrication. He often shares stories of how his great-grandfather first brought metalworking into the family – creating ornamental architectural pieces, working on vehicles, and carrying out general fabrication. Notably, much of this early work involved reclaiming and repairing architectural metalwork damaged during World War II, laying the foundations for a legacy of skill, resilience, and pride in the craft that continues today.
While our roots are traditional, our business is firmly focused on the future. In 2025, the company – formerly known as Bretvents – became part of the Scantech Group under the Oxygen Installations umbrella. Like us, they are a family-run organisation, with three active generations working together across the group. This shared ethos ensures we maintain a personal, hands-on approach while benefiting from the strength and capabilities of a wider network.
Today, we work with clients across a range of industries including automotive, construction, aerospace, electronics, manufacturing, and renewable energy. Our customer base includes organisations such as British Gas, West Sussex County Council, RNIB, TR Fastenings Ltd, and British Telecom PLC – but we’re just as committed to supporting local businesses right here in Uckfield.
