It may have been the day before Halloween, but there was nothing scary about the latest Uckfield Chamber of Commerce networking breakfast…apart from the early start and a room full of local businesspeople who hadn’t yet had their morning coffee!

Thankfully, the tea and coffee were flowing at The Picture House Restaurant on Uckfield High Street, where around 35 local businesspeople gathered for the Chamber’s latest bi-monthly networking breakfast.

There was plenty of opportunity to catch up with familiar faces and make some new connections before everyone tucked into a delicious full English buffet breakfast.

Making connections

With breakfast enjoyed and caffeine levels restored, it was then time for the 60-second pitches, where each attendee had the opportunity to stand up and introduce themselves, and share what they do with the rest of the room.

It’s a great way to raise awareness of the fantastic range of businesses operating in and around Uckfield, while giving attendees a reason to follow up with people they might not otherwise have had the chance to speak to.

Next up was Cllr Karen Bedwell, Mayor of Uckfield, who gave an informative presentation about the Town Council, its role in the community and the ways it can support local businesses.

Karen also shared a little more about life as Mayor, including the charities she’s supporting during the final year of her mayoral term. You can find out more about her chosen charities in this message from the Mayor.

Chamber Director Ian Noble also touched on some of the upcoming events that the Uckfield Chamber is sponsoring, November’s Uckfield Professionals Curry Club at Amira’s Kitchen on 24 November and Late Night Shopping on 4 December.

Once the formalities were over, guests were free to continue networking, follow up on conversations and make the most of the opportunity to connect.

There were business cards exchanged, selfies taken and, hopefully, a few new business relationships sparked along the way!
